Co-PIs King and Sweeney and Sr. Personnel Crosas and Honaker published a paper “Automating Open Science for Big Data,” in a special Big Data issue of The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, a scholarly periodical that reaches out to social scientists covering in-depth research in a wide range of societal and political topics. This paper describes challenges big data poses for research accountability, preservation, reuse and
reproducibility and discusses how data repositories can be equipped to meet these challenges, including the critical role DataTags can play.
